At DPTC it appears we love our social tennis. Some would say we've the best social tennis scene anywhere in Ireland!

Our events are great fun and offer tons of opportunity to meet friendly people who just play tennis for the joy of it all.
Social Tennis is an important part of the club, it introduces new members and gives all members the opportunity to make connections so you can play as part of doubles or singles outside the social tennis times. We encourage full participation in our social events, these happen daily, see below for details.
It is to be noted that these are all adult social events, junior events will be notified to you directly should you have juniors in your membership form. All social tennis is booked up to 7 days in advance on Acebook and is usually held on the same time and same day. Any changes are communicated via WhatsApp, so make sure you are on at least one of the four WhatsApp groups.
NOTE: Please ensure you register your attendance for all social tennis events on Acebook, you can do this up to 7 days in advance and remove yourself at any stage prior to the event.

AND THAT'S NOT ALL...
In addition to social tennis, our committee also organises social events for members and a number of fundraising activities during the year. Social events run in parallel to League Tennis and internal competitions which are organised by our club captains. They provide an opportunity for players at all levels to interact and play together in a social context.

Our social tournaments combine a fun evening of tennis followed by a social in the clubhouse - usually dinner, drinks and music. The format is mixed doubles - rotating 20-minute games with random partner selection. We host these tournaments throughout the summer and at other key dates during the year such as Easter and Halloween.

To celebrate our Club Championship finals, we host our ‘At Home’ in the Clubhouse every September.

Our Turkey Team tennis is a popular team event, where members of all levels are on one team and compete against players on other teams at their level of play.

We also organise charity days such as Play in Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Play in Orange for Mental Health Awareness.

The social committee is also responsible for fundraising events such as our annual table quiz, bag packs, discos and other one-off events.
